The History of Floor Finish
In ancient times, wax was derived from bees. It was collected and used to protect and surfaces such as floors and seal and protect other things. Eventually, carnauba wax was discovered and this became the most commonly used floor polishing care product until WW 2. Unable to import carnauba through the sea routes during World War II, German scientists turned to polymer research to provide a solution to their floor care problems. After the war, several manufacturers started researching and producing different floor polishing, stripping and re-finishing products.
